A few weeks ago I helped coordinate a beautiful rustic fall wedding at Cerruti Cellars in Jack London Square located in Oakland, CA for Audi and Chris. Who knew that it would take almost four years for me to go home (for those of you who don’t know me I am from California) to see familiar faces for the weekend all to witness one of my dearest friends get married? It was a short lived weekend, but well worth the trip! So happy to be a part of their long awaited journey! May you both continue to have an abundance of love for one another! When your best friend is a MUA you can’t help but wonder how fly everyone is going to look on her wedding day. I honestly have to say Audi was so thorough with how she wanted everyone the day of her wedding from the color palate of makeup, attire, and our nail color.

Audi + Chris met while in attending Hayward High, since then had two beautiful girls with a loving supportive family; who could ask for anything more? Little did Audi know Chris was secretly planning to propose to Audi on her birthday.

The Proposal…

For Audi’s 30th Birthday they had a small gathering at her mother’s home in Hayward. Once they all finished singing happy birthday, Chris begun to thank everyone that attended and literally as he knelt down to get on one knee Audi was caught off guard. She proceeded to back up because she wasn’t aware of what was going on. Chris asked for her hand in marriage as everyone cheered them on! Once Audi said yes they continued to celebrate the night away!

Wedding Day Inspiration:

Audi and Chris did not want to have a traditional wedding, instead they opted for their guests to be comfortable, more family oriented laid-back experience. For décor Audi wanted to have succulents and large candles in hurricane glasses to compliment the rustic-industrial feel of the venue. Audi also wanted to add touches to her day by incorporating her Latin Heritage. On the top of their wedding cake was a bride and groom figurine that represented Dia de los Muertos. Her floral crown that she wore on top of her head was inspired by Mexican Artist, Frida Kahlo. There were traditional pastries and candy placed on the dessert table and to top it all off a taquero was present making authentic tacos with your choice of meat, beans and rice! The food was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

 

The Wedding Dress

Audi’s wedding gown was all white form fitting with a v-shaped plunge showing minimal cleavage. There was lace on the shoulders that met at the nape of her neck where a button was enclosed. Slightly backless yet, tasteful with a small train.
